Allity – Carinya

TSDB undertook the full refurbishment to Carinya, an Allity Aged Care Facility located in the leafy suburb of Myrtlebank. This existing facility includes a large heritage home at the front and has extensive additions to the South, housing 62 residents. The works involved several structural changes to the various built forms including the large stone walls, and a number of external works.

This included the conversion of existing operational and administrative areas into 3 new bedrooms with ensuites which also required an extension. TSDB undertook the design and construction of a new large port cochere to the front of the facility and design and modifications to 2 other large external canopies located in the internal courtyards.

Internally TSDB reconfigured and upgraded all services and carried out extensive fitout including the new dining areas, new salon, new reception and administration spaces, and new waiting area and kitchenette spaces. The fitout is to a high level of finish and quality and included a large amount of joinery and specialty applied finishes.

Carinya houses a specialist Memory Support Unit for residents with dementia who require specialised and sensitive care to support their individual needs. TSDB have also undertaken works to provide new nurse’s station and kitchenette to this wing and new bedrooms. Also TSDB continues to undertake the rolling refurbishment works of all 59 remaining bedrooms to further enhance this great facility.
