Blakes Crossing Christian College Stage 3

The third stage to Blake’s Crossing Christian College was constructed in 2017 and completed over a 5 month build period. Designed and constructed by TSDB, it comprises of tech and science rooms at ground level and general learning areas to the first floor.

This project was tendered as 2 packages of works in 2 separate building and was part of the initial STEM Works (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) which was being rolled out by the State Government. This is part of a state wide shift in the way in which students at every level of schooling develop knowledge, skills and understanding in STEM subjects.

The works also incorporated physics and chemistry facilities and the refurbishment and redevelopment of a technology workshop, full refurbishment of science laboratories, digital photography room, presentation space, classrooms, sound room and teacher areas.

This work was carried out within an operating school environment over a number of terms, while ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning and maintaining a high level of safety to students and teachers while works were underway.

Emali Early Learning Centre Morphett Vale was constructed by TSDB in 2016.

The new Emali flagship facility is uniquely designed with aesthetic appeal from the external landscape through to the internal finishes. The single storey, timber engineered building was designed to nurture the most precious part of life, children.

Won as a lump sum tender, the project was handed over to the client with no construction WHS matters and within budget.

Concordia College - St Johns Campus

With a tight program centred around all demolition and asbestos removal works happening over the Christmas break, this project involved the construction of a very large central courtyard canopy structure with associated paving, services and infrastructure works. The works also included some new build and refurbishment of surrounding functional areas in a new student toilet block, store rooms and façade upgrade to existing classrooms. This also included new sliding doors and opening leading out to the new large curved concrete formed steps and landing areas which were all constructed by TSDB.

TSDB undertook works to the School whilst it was an operating School environment. This meant a high level of safety and organisation to ensure works could run smoothly and there were minimal interruptions to the School.

Pimpala Pre School

Pimpala Pre School was a new building which needed new in ground services on a vacant block which was located on the existing Pimpala Primary School overall site. It also required new services connections. TSDB delivered this project for the State Government’s Department for Education and Child Development, and we did so on time, to budget and to the required high level of quality and attention to detail which Tridente Architects expect on their projects.

This modern design, stunning new kindergarten will accommodate up to 70 enrolled students from their existing premises. This new facility allows for creative and flexible learning practises along with all of the latest building materials and an extensive landscaped playground which is fun and adventurous for the children.

The work also comprised of a new single storey building with kitchen, offices, wet areas, a reception space, two large learning areas with operable walls and associated plant and ancillary spaces as well as a new carpark. This was another education project delivered by TSDB which we are very proud of and was completed to the satisfaction of the various representatives of the client group.

St Paul Lutheran School

The refurbishment of works were performed throughout the entire school in 4 key stages, with completion dates every term being achieved.

This however did have it's challenges working in an environment where the school is still in full operation.

We had to work closely with the school to achieve tight deadlines and restricted work access.

Safety of the children was one of the main focuses on this project as we were continuously working in close vicinity of students.

Cedar College Performing Arts

This two storey building comprises of music tuition, recording studio, drama room, staff room, multimedia, learning areas and music room.

The use of the recycled synthetic timber curved feature façade wall resulting in a striking façade. The alucobond triangle roof was incorporated from the administration centre to complement both buildings.

The layout as generated by the consideration of the optimal acoustics to avoid noise transfer throughout the building, with the use of acoustically treated walls and ceilings and all walls on different angles to each other. The client brief for interior was the keep creativity flowing subtle atmospheres not glaring and exposing. TSDB have delivered this by the use of natural, earthy finishes throughout and focused on lighting to transform performance space and creative spaces to create flexible teaching spaces.
